THOSE WARM DAYS OF WINTER

Johannesburg has a wonderful winter. Apart for being a season which is very sunny, some days (not all of them) you can wear clothes that you would normally only wear in Spring or Autumn.
Today I am wearing a 3/4 sleeve dress, a warm scarf, leggings and heels. It is 12:00 pm and it is 22 degrees as you read this. 22 degrees in Winter!!!
Some people may blame it on global warming, but winter in this country has always been lovely for the last 11 years that I have been living here.
But wait, not everything is that perfect, during the afternoon the weather changes a lot and becomes really cold, so this is the time to wear more layers or a jacket and transform your look.
In the meantime, I am at the park, enjoying of this warm and sunny day...

 I am wearing:

Dress: Mr. Price
Scarf: The Hub
Leggings: Woolworths
Heels: H&M
Shades: Zara

TRYING A NEW PERFUME: ALIEN FROM THIERRY MUGLER (REVIEW)

Perfumes are part of our identity. They have an indescribable power to remind us of special moments or stages of our live. I remember when I was little, watching my mom getting ready and as final touch, applying perfume on her neck and other parts of her body. That moment was magic for me but also sensual... she was owning her feminity by doing that and I loved it. It was so fascinating for me going to her dressing table to sneak around and see all her make up and perfumes, to smell all of them and to pretent that I was an adult. We all did it!  And the best moment was, when I asked her to pour one of her perfums on me. She didn´t do it often, but sometimes she just did - just to make me feel happy...from those early moments, I understood the power of perfums!

I am very picky in selecting a perfume. I don't like strong ones cause they make me feel dizzy, I don't like soft ones because they smell like my deodorant, I don't like very sweet scents because I feel it is cloying... so that's why for me it is very difficult to change my fragrance, unless something really interesting conquer my senses.

Today, I am going to talk about Alien from Thierry Mugler. Apart from having a beautifully designed purple bottle, this is a perfume that makes me feel mature and young at the same time, yet attractive and feminine during this stage of my life.
This is the first perfume I found where bottle is refillable, how cool is that? I would feel terrible throwing away this beautiful bottle. So the nice thing about Alien is that you can keep it and refill it whenever you feel like.
Besides being long lasting, the fragrance exudes a positive energy, charged with mystery. Alien contains sunny indian jasmine on the top, woody scents in the heart, and warm white amber in the base.
If you want to have a change and want to try a new perfume, that is soft but sensual, try this elixir of absolute femininity. Remember, your perfume also defines your energy!

WHERE TO APPLY A PERFUME
This might sound obvious but I am going to tell you something, if you apply your perfume in the morning and still want people to ask you what scent you are wearing in the afternoon, follow my steps:

1. Apply the scent on your neck and also take some with your finger tips and put it around your earrings.
2. In the wrist and rub it with the other wrist.
3. On the chest.
4. On the upper legs.
5. On the ends of the hair. Remember, don't do it at the roots! as most perfums are made with oils, applying to the roots might make your hair become dirty or greasy and may even smell bad.
If you are in South Africa, you can buy or refill Alien at selected Edgars, Truworths, Stuttafords, Foschini, Dischem and Red Square.

Alien prices range from R885 (30 ml) to R1.500 (90 ml)
Refill prices start from R530 (30 ml) to R1.150  (90 ml)
