LA ROCHE - POSAY REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

Did you know that kids that aren't protected properly from the sunlight may suffer skin cancer as adults? Recent studies by the American Academy of Dermatology in San Diego demonstrated this. They also warned that, contrary to popular belief, people with dark skin are more likely to die from skin cancer than those with fairer skin. "There's a perception that people with darker skin don't have to worry about skin cancer, but that's not true".
Even on cloudy, cool, or overcast days, UV rays travel through the clouds and reflect off sand, water, and even concrete. That's why I am very concerned while I am outdoors to take care of not only my skin but also of my son's. Today I am reviewing some Anthelios Sun Care products from La Roche - Posay, suitable for adults and kids.
La Roche-Posay is a French Dermatology skin care company recommended by more than 25.000 Dermatologists worldwide.

                              ANTHELIOS XL STICK 50+
Very easy to apply on my son's face due its portability. It looks clear after the application and doesn't leave white stains that you have to rub over and over again. My son swam in the pool and didn't cry or complain because his eyes were burning, as some of the sunscreens after a while, sting the eyes. I also used it and really like that is 50+ protection which is very important for the face (anti aging) and doesn't leave my hands greasy!. I also find it perfect to take it everywhere inside my handbag :)
I loved the fact that my son didn't complain when I applied it on her face.

ANTHELIOS KIDS LOTION 50+
It is water resistant and paraben free. It is white, thick and very easy to apply. It leaves a bit of white residue, but this doesn't bother me as it feels like it's really protecting my skin from the sun. I recommend you to use this product from neck to feet.
 TIP
As I know that sometimes our kids dislike it when we apply sunscreens on them, make it fun, play games and educate them at the same time by touching the parts where it should be applied. Also let them put it on themselves, even if you have to rub it in properly after. It's very important for parents to teach their kids how to have fun in the sun safely. Taking the right precautions can greatly reduce your child's chance of developing skin cancer.
Remember that most sun damage occurs as a result of incidental exposure during day-to-day activities, not from being at the beach.

ANTHELIOS KIDS SPRAY 50+
My favorite! It has a special children's formula. The texture is liquid which is very easy to rub.It has a shinny finish but amazingly is not greasy. Water resistant. Good for face and body. For face it can even be used under the make up. I recommend applying it again after swimming due its light texture.
Keep in mind that infants have thinner skin and underdeveloped melanin which means that their skin burns more easily than older kids. Health experts advise people to use sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15.

LITTLE BLACK DRESS FROM DIANE PARIS

Do you have a black dress in your wardrobe? if not, this is the moment to buy this "must have" garment that can be worn for many different occasions. If you already have one, it is always good idea to have more than one, as it is timeless and works great in any season.

As you know, this blog is also a platform to promote local designers who are creating interesting collections in the South African market. Today I am wearing this beautiful dress called Christina from french clothing label Diane Paris. Thanks to the modeling industry, I met Diana Tadjuideen, the creator of this brand 3 years ago. I have watched her growth and seen her make a mark in this country. Diana who is now based in SA, is Parisian born with family ties to Africa and Poland
Can you see that my pregnant belly is showing now? What I love about this dress is that I can wear it being pregnant or not, thanks to its elastic and very confortable fabric.
Diane is a ready to wear women's brand which is rooted in Parisian feminity, focused on providing effortlessly chic, individual and timeless pieces.
Diane pieces come from an intimate process which starts life in Paris, where luxury fabrics are carefully hand picked by Diana and provide the inspiration for future designs. In  Kalisz, Poland's oldest town and second home to Diana, she works with a select group of seamstress' to finalise the design and manufacturing process. Then she brings her collection from Europe to show it in her show room or pop up shops in South Africa.
WHY TO HAVE A BLACK DRESS:
  • Because it´s synonymous with elegance
  • It will make you feel amazing due its slimming qualities
  • It is timeless
  • You can wear it on different occasions without people noticing (if you accessorize it differently)
TIP:
A whole black outfit will be always classic, but if you want something different, wear the  black dress with heels and accessories in colours that create contrast such red, white, green, silver or gold ;)

Diane Paris will be opening her showroom at the end of this month.
It will be located at 63 Kent Road, Illovo.

The showroom is only by appointment so Diana can offer a private and exclusive experience for each of her clients.

DARK BLUE WITH WHITE AND BROWN LOOK FOR PREGNANT AND NON PREGNANT WOMAN

Happy New Year!!! and all the best for 2017 which it seems will be a great year for all of us. In my case, it will be an exciting year as my baby girl is expected to born in March. I am now 7 months pregnant... I know it doesn't look like that in this picture hahaha. The thing is that today I was feeling huge, so as much as I love a lot my belly bump, I just wanted to look fashionable.
If you are pregnant or overweight and want to look slimmer, remember that wearing dark colors such black, dark blue, dark green or dark grey will make you like thinner. Another tip is to wear dresses or long shirts with plain pattern (like in the pics) and not pleats in the front.
This is a look that works perfect for pregnant and non pregnant women.
I like the mix of blue, white and brown in the same look, what do you think about it?
