LIKE MOTHER, LIKE SON AFRICAN FASHION: THE OUTFIT I DESIGNED FOR MY SON AND ME

Mother's Day is around the corner and I wanted to share these pictures that I took last year with my son when he was smaller. As some of you know, I have a clothing label called My Latina. I had to put this on stand by as I focused my energy and time on my son, and also building up my blog. I designed this african "Like Mother, Like Son" outfit which I totally love.
The special thing about this outfit is that I sewed my son's shirt with my own hands!
My son was born in Africa thats why I love dressing him up with African fabrics.
Aren't both these looks lovely?

I am wearing:

Shirt: Gap
Skirt: My Latina Fashion
Heels: H&M

Luka is wearing:

Shirt: My Latina Fashion
Shorts: Woolworths

NO HEELS ON SUNDAYS: DENIM DRESS WITH CONVERS

Denim is always timeless. Garments made with this fabric are versatile, you can wear them with sneakers to have a laid back look, or with high heels to look smart.
I am carrying on with my campaign about not wearing heels on Sundays and giving you some ideas about how to look good wearing flat shoes or sneakers.
I love this look, the hat give it the formal touch.
A denim dress is always a must have garment as it comes back between seasons.

I am wearing:

Dress: Jet
Sneakers: Convers
Hat: Cotton On

WEEKEND AT PHI PHI ISLAND, THAILAND

After spending a wonderful time in Phuket, we decided to go to Phi Phi Island for 2 nights to relax, disconnect ourselves and recharge our batteries. My Brazilian friend Ligia (left in the picture) who I met in South Africa and now is living and working in Malaysia, decided to take a flight and join us for the weekend. How special was this?
Here in the picture, the moment when she arrived at Phuket and ready for the next day.
We took the ferry from Phuket to the islands which is more or less a 2 hours trip. Have you seen the movie The Beach with Leonardo Di Caprio? That movie was shot here.
Seeing Ligia again was very special. She is the kind of friend who I don't see often as she lives in another country but we have a nice connection. She is a very happy and fun person and I feel we are very similar in that way. Probably is because of our South American bound.
During the sunset, while Klara was at the beach reading a book, Ligia and I decided to go to the sea and play with my camera. I just love the pictures.
She is great in front of the camera.
The low tide scenery was  beautiful and dramatic, something I never saw before. Walking deep into the sea and seating in the middle of it was something unique.
And off course, with such a low tide, we were worried about the likelihood of a tsunami.
THE NEXT MORNING
Ready to take our private boat and head to Maya Bay, the island that is exactly in front of us in the picture above.
Finally at Maya Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen in my life. We did snorkeling in the beautiful crystal waters of the islands. I am feeling very grateful of being able to take one sabbatic week. Now I am ready to go back home feeling recharged and more balance.
My mind is in peace.
